The Castalian String Quartet brings together the man who wrote 68 quartets with another who wrote just one mature quartet. It is hard to imagine two more different musical personalities than Haydn and Sibelius and as a result, this morning’s programme offers fantastic proof (if it were needed) of the sheer richness of the quartet repertoire.
