Bertrand Chamayou appears at ENF for the first time this year, though SCO regulars will be familiar with him from his concerto appearances with them. He is a regular performer in venues such as the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Lincoln Center and London’s Wigmore Hall, as well as major festivals including New York’s Mostly Mozart Festival, the Lucerne Festival, Salzburg Festival and Edinburgh International Festival. In addition to his busy concerto diary Chamayou is a regular recitalist and chamber player with partners including Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, Quatuor Ébène, Antoine Tamestit and Sol Gabetta. He has released acclaimed recordings, especially of French repertoire including the music of César Franck, Saint-Saëns and Ravel’s complete works for solo piano. His recent tour de force recording of Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus has been especially acclaimed.
